First Steps in Learning
Our Age 2 program is designed to gently introduce young children to the joy of preschool. In a warm, nurturing environment, children begin building trust, confidence, and independence through play, exploration, and caring relationships. Teachers provide predictable routines and plenty of encouragement, helping each child feel safe while discovering the world around them.

Highly recommend this preschool! We could not be more happy with the preschool program. The teachers are warm and kind. They worked with my child when they were struggling to hold a pencil. Director is so sweet and is amazing at her job. Our child loved going to school here and is excelled in all areas.

If I could give this preschool 100 stars I would! We are so thankful for the teachers and Miss Wendy and Miss Rosa and everyone for teaching and caring for our son. He came home happy in the afternoons and could not wait to go in the mornings. He would share what he had learned that day once he got home whether it was more academic or manners and practicing kindness. Highly recommend!

To say we love our preschool is an understatement! The growth our daughter has had this year from the day she started on her 2nd birthday (not potty trained & very little words) to a year later is incredible. Even in days when she cries when I leave (being a mom is hard) they give her patience and love. My son attended prior to kinder and he was ahead of the game. This preschool is a hidden gem in Long Beach!

Los Altos United Methodist Preschool is the best in Long Beach. The teachers are so loving and caring to the children. My children learned so much during their time at LAUMPS. Excellent communication with parents. Wonderful and friendly director. I recommend LAUMPS to everyone.
My oldest just started Kindergarten and is above average on all his academics due to LAUMPS. Our family just loves the staff and facility at LAUMPS.
